The NECTAC staff mourn the loss of our leader and friend. We will continue to work to support Pat's and our shared vision that "All young children with disabilities and other special needs will learn and develop optimally, and with their families will participate fully in community life with dignity and respect."
Dear Colleagues and Friends,

The National Early Childhood Technical Assistance Center supports the national implementation of the early childhood provisions of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA). Our mission is to strengthen systems at all levels to ensure that children (birth through five) with disabilities and their families receive and benefit from high quality, culturally appropriate and family centered supports and services.

The primary business of our Center is technical assistance (TA). This is a systematic process for transferring knowledge about early childhood research, practices that work, and policies to assist states and their stakeholders to accomplish goals and plans for systems change. As a cultivator of enduring change to improve results for these children, the TA Center individualizes strategic assistance to each state and jurisdiction. We work with a variety of state and local audiences and TA partners. And, we employ various strategies to transfer this know-how, including consultation, workshops, information services and supports from our NECTAC Clearinghouse, teleconferences, and electronic communications such as discussion groups and the World Wide Web. These and other dissemination strategies provide information to potentially every American who can use it.

Funding is awarded to the TA Center by the Office of Special Education Programs of the U.S. Department of Education. We appreciate its support of and belief in the value of nationally targeted TA to ensure that No Child is Left Behind, including young children with disabilities.

If you have any questions about our work or how you can access information and resources from us, please feel free to contact us.

.

Sincerely,
Signature Pascal Trohanis
