  1. New Web site - Evidence-Based Center on Early Literacy Development

    The Orelena Hawks Puckett Institute recently published a new Web site for the Evidence-Based Center for Early Literacy Development. The Web site is meant to provide parents and professionals with information on evidence-based early communication, language and emergent literacy development. The content of the site is based on more than five years of research-related activity and practice on the characteristics and consequences of early literacy experiences for children birth to five years of age.     The Orelena Hawks Puckett Institute was also recently awarded a new OSEP-funded Center for Early Literacy Learning (CELL). CELL will announce its Web site soon and eNotes will share the URL when it becomes available.

  2. Newly Funded - National Center on High Quality Personnel in Inclusive Early Childhood Settings

    The FPG Child Development Institute has been awarded a $2.5 million five-year grant from the U.S. Department of Education to establish a national center on high quality personnel in inclusive early childhood settings. The new national center will identify and help states implement the most promising professional development approaches currently available within early childhood education.
