Part C Finance Leadership Initiative
NECTAC and the IDEA Infant & Toddler Coordinators Association (ITCA),
in collaboration with the Regional Resource Centers and private consultants have
launched a collaborative multi-state technical assistance initiative on leadership
in financing Part C systems. The initiative was developed primarily as a result
of a "think tank" meeting sponsored by NECTAC in response to an identified need
from the field to address the challenges of building and maintaining an adequate
finance system that is responsive to change and assisting people in leadership
positions to hone their leadership skills. The Leadership Initiative is designed
to assist Part C Coordinators to effectively assess the fiscal health of their
Part C system and develop a plan for implementing change. This is done through
the completion of a self-assessment tool that enables Part C Coordinators to
conduct strategic planning based on state demographics, fiscal resources supports
and services, as well as their political and economic context.
