This is the second call in a series of calls coordinated by The National Early Childhood TA Center (NECTAC) in collaboration with: OSEP Preschool LRE Community of Practice, Mountain Plains Regional Resource Center, National Professional Development Center on Inclusion, and The Technical Assistance Center on Social Emotional Intervention for Young Children (formerly the Center for Evidence-Based Practice: Young Children with Challenging Behavior). The presentation materials and audio recording are available on this Web page.
The Arkansas Department of Education/Early Childhood Special Education developed statewide mechanisms for providing behavioral supports to personnel working with preschool children through an ongoing collaboration effort with the Arkansas Division of Child Care and Early Childhood Education. This presentation will provide an overview of an early childhood special education program which has embedded a behavior support services system within its structure. The discussion will highlight how the services are provided in a large geographic region serving children, families and agencies in various settings. Information on how program needs were determined, established and implemented will provide participants with examples and first hand experiences in program development including successes, challenges, lessons learned and future needs.

- Participants will gain an understanding of how behavioral support services are provided in a variety of program settings.
- Participants will understand the steps in the implementation of the behavior service process.
- Participants will gain ideas and resources for developing or enhancing behavioral support to programs in their states.
